Author and Mendeley Workshop at the Library of the School of Science [17/10/22]

Dear Colleagues and Co-workers,

As part of its plan for extroversion and the promotion of its services, the Library and Information Centre of NKUA organizes–in collaboration with ELSEVIER–two author/researcher workshops on Monday, 17 October 2022, at the Conference Hall of the Library of the School of Science.

  1. Become a Published Researcher: Your Plan for Success. The workshop analyses the basic structure of a research article, shares advice about how to write an article, and presents the peer review process.
  2. Introduction to MRM and Associated Tools. The workshop presents the main functionalities of Mendeley software, i.e., Mendeley Reference Manager, Mendeley Cite, and Mendeley Web Importer. NB that Mendeley is a reference manager software used to manage and share research papers and generate bibliographies for scholarly articles.

University of Athens

The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, which was inaugurated on May 3, 1837, was initially housed in a renovated Ottoman building on the northeastern side of the Acropolis. This building has since been restored and now functions as the University Museum. Originally named the "Othonian University," after Otto, the first king of Greece, it consisted of four academic departments and 52 students. As the first university of the newly established Greek state, as well as of the broader Balkan and Mediterranean region, it assumed an important socio-historical role, which was pivotal in the development of specific forms of knowledge and culture within the country.
