As we approach the end of the spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year, we are pleased to announce that an LL.M. in International and European Legal Studies Closing Ceremony will be held to bring everyone together, professors and students of both specializations. It will be an opportunity for a fruitful discussion and exchange of experiences. 

The ceremony will open with a welcome speech, followed by Professor Conor Quigley’s keynote speech on “Between private and public law: state aid law and arbitration” (LSE, Oxford University). The discussion which will follow is to be coordinated by Professor Antonios Karampatzos (NKUA) and commented by Assistant Professor Dimitrios Kyriazis (AUTH) – click here for more information. The event will be followed by a finger food bar.

University of Athens

The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, which was inaugurated on May 3, 1837, was initially housed in a renovated Ottoman building on the northeastern side of the Acropolis. This building has since been restored and now functions as the University Museum. Originally named the "Othonian University," after Otto, the first king of Greece, it consisted of four academic departments and 52 students. As the first university of the newly established Greek state, as well as of the broader Balkan and Mediterranean region, it assumed an important socio-historical role, which was pivotal in the development of specific forms of knowledge and culture within the country.
