Christoforos Polydorou, a member of the teaching staff at the University of Athens’ Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry, gave another outstanding performance at the 2025 World Transplant Games, where the Greek national team also made a strong impression. The Games were held from August 17 to 24, 2025, in Dresden, Germany. More than 2,200 athletes from 51 countries took to the field in 17 sports, showcasing the strength and resilience of those who have overcome serious health challenges. The level of competition across all events was exceptionally high, driven by a record-breaking number of participants.
The Greek national team, with 26 athletes, truly distinguished itself through its dedication and remarkable results. Notably, Christoforos Polydorou earned a bronze medal in the 200m event, climbing to third place on the podium. He also finished 5th in the 100m and 8th in the 400m. Additionally, the 4x100m relay team, which included Polydorou, secured 6th place in the world rankings.
Christoforos Polydorou’s achievements, along with the success of Team Greece as a whole, highlight a significant milestone and underscore the importance of sport in promoting both physical and mental well-being.
