Migration is one of the burning social, economic and political issues of our time, caused by oppression, civil conflicts, wars, discrimination and persecution, poverty, climate change and many other factors. Europe, and especially Greece, is one of those areas that are temporarily or permanently accepting large numbers of refugees and migrants. At the same time, the construction of the public image of refugee and migrant flows by the media contributes to shaping the decisions taken by governments and supranational bodies, such as those of the EU, concerning the management of refugees and migrants in various social areas such as politics and rights, education, employment, housing, etc.
The Summer School is open to students from media and communication studies, political and social sciences and other related fields. Students should be currently enrolled in Bachelor, Master or PhD level at a Higher Education Institution. A certificate of attendance will be given to the participants. Full attendance corresponds to 15 ECVET (European Credit system for Vocational Education and Training).
