Brief description: The CIVIS school in “Paleoglaciology” is organized through the CIVIS partnership and hosted by Stockholm University. It will take place in the field, where students will be trained in glacial landforms and landscapes, and how these forms are used for ice sheet reconstructions.
Topics: (i) formation processes, (ii) field mapping, air photo-/remote sensing interpretation and mapping of glacial landforms, and (iii) geographical analysis of glacial landforms and landform-based paleoglaciological reconstructions
Programme: The training school comprises the theoretical background together with extensive fieldwork. The main activities include field activities and lectures (9h*5 days) and self-depended study (30h).
To attend the training school you must arrive in Stockholm 24 May and depart from Stockholm 31 May.
