1st Panhellenic Hybrid Conference on Medical Genetics 2022 [14-16/10/22]

The Hellenic Society of Medical Genetics hosts the 1st Panhellenic Conference on Medical Genetics with international participation from 14 to 16 October 2022. The conference will be held in hybrid mode (online and in-person) in the Physiology Lecture Theatre ‘G. Kotzias’ of the NKUA’s School of Medicine.

The conference will be live-streamed at https://apr.com.gr/medicalgenetics2022/live/

The Society organizes the conference in the framework of lifelong medical education and for the reason of updating doctors and other health care professionals on the latest scientific developments in Genetics.

The scientific programme includes applications to various medical specialties, given the contribution of Medical Genetics to the overall health of individuals and the influence it may have on families, society and the economy.

Participating at the conference are distinguished Greek and foreign speakers aiming to transmit their knowledge and experiences from the field of Medical Genetics and raise public awareness of diagnosis, prognosis, prevention, and genetic counselling.

University of Athens

The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, which was inaugurated on May 3, 1837, was initially housed in a renovated Ottoman building on the northeastern side of the Acropolis. This building has since been restored and now functions as the University Museum. Originally named the "Othonian University," after Otto, the first king of Greece, it consisted of four academic departments and 52 students. As the first university of the newly established Greek state, as well as of the broader Balkan and Mediterranean region, it assumed an important socio-historical role, which was pivotal in the development of specific forms of knowledge and culture within the country.
