4th Athens Cardiovascular Symposium 2025

The “4th Athens Cardiovascular Symposium 2025” successfully concluded yesterday, exceeding all expectations. This truly international symposium, held entirely in English, brought together leading experts from Greece along with numerous distinguished speakers from abroad.

Thanks to their contribution, the 4th ACVS has now established itself as one of the most important scientific events in the field of aortic surgery across Europe. Among the renowned international speakers who honored us with their presence – either in person or virtually – were J. Elefteriades, K. Plestis, K. Tsagakis, P. Punjabi, S. Abisi, S. Haulon, C. Shu, K. Tsilimbaris, A. Karelis, H. Elsayed-Awad, N. Sakalihasan, G. Pratesi, A. Kebriakov, R. Dammrau, M. Sabetai, Τ.Saratzis, C.Zeebregts, A. Svetlikov, G. Melissano and J.P. Becquemin.

Through meaningful exchanges of experience and constructive debate, the 4th ACVS delivered a comprehensive view on cardiovascular disease management – from the aortic valve to the aortic bifurcation. With the active engagement of all participants, it successfully highlighted the latest clinically relevant developments, emphasized the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration, and inspired new perspectives in the face of rapid advancements in the field. Our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to what proved to be an outstanding scientific experience.

University of Athens

The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, which was inaugurated on May 3, 1837, was initially housed in a renovated Ottoman building on the northeastern side of the Acropolis. This building has since been restored and now functions as the University Museum. Originally named the "Othonian University," after Otto, the first king of Greece, it consisted of four academic departments and 52 students. As the first university of the newly established Greek state, as well as of the broader Balkan and Mediterranean region, it assumed an important socio-historical role, which was pivotal in the development of specific forms of knowledge and culture within the country.
