On the occasion of his visit to Athens to present his credentials, H.E., the Ambassador of Ecuador to Italy and candidate for concurrent accreditation to Greece, Mr Esteban Moscoso Bohman, met with the NKUA’s Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, International Relations, and Extroversion, Professor Sophia Papaioannou. Also in attendance were the Consul of Ecuador to Greece, Ms Susana Vásquez Alvear, and the Head of the NKUA’s Directorate of Public-International Relations and History, Ms S.-A. Sakellariou.
The Ambassador informed the Vice-Rector about Ecuador’s key educational, social, and financial issues, and—expressing his belief that education is a driving force behind the development of nations at all levels—he called for collaboration with our University. Accordingly, he stated that such collaboration would greatly enhance the global reach of his country’s education.
The Vice-Rector, on her part, advocated for the launch of a joint effort to include Ecuador in the Erasmus+ International Mobility Programme starting from the next academic year, provided that all necessary discussions take place beforehand.
