CardioAthena 2025 Contest

CardioAthena 2025 Contest

The 1st Department of Cardiology of the NKUA’s School of Medicine based in Hippocratio General Hospital will host the International Meeting on Cardiovascular Medicine ‘CardioAthena 2025’, from 4 to 5 April 2025 at the Divani Caravel Hotel in Athens.

The Conference will include an activity using social media, particularly Instagram, in which all NKUA students can participate, regardless of School or Department.

Students are invited to create videos of up to 60 seconds, which they will then post on the Conference’s social media, particularly Instagram, as Reels tagged @cardioreels_2025 (this is the official Instagram account of the Conference).

The videos will allow students to communicate their ideas, thoughts, and creations on:

✓ Heart as a central organ of the body,

✓ The significance of human heart from a historical, artistic, and literary perspective,

✓ The special meaning of human heart for each creator,

✓ Heart and its protection within the context of the student’s field of studies, and

✓ The importance of cardiovascular health.

The students’ creations will also be presented in a designated area of CardioAthena 2025, while the three best submissions will be awarded prizes at the opening ceremony of the Conference.

Anyone wishing to take part in the contest (via Instagram) should take the following steps:

  1. Follow the account @cardioreels_2025,
  2. Record a video of up to 60 seconds via the Instagram app or outside it,
  3. Upload the video as a Reel,
  4. Tag the Reel with the account @cardioreels_2025 or add @cardioreels_2025 in the description field.
  5. Send a message to @cardioreels_2025 with the title ‘Participation in CardioAthena 2025 Contest’.

You can submit your entries until 2 April 2025!

University of Athens

The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, which was inaugurated on May 3, 1837, was initially housed in a renovated Ottoman building on the northeastern side of the Acropolis. This building has since been restored and now functions as the University Museum. Originally named the "Othonian University," after Otto, the first king of Greece, it consisted of four academic departments and 52 students. As the first university of the newly established Greek state, as well as of the broader Balkan and Mediterranean region, it assumed an important socio-historical role, which was pivotal in the development of specific forms of knowledge and culture within the country.
