National Centre for Blood Donation and Aimopetalio: Christmas Voluntary Blood Donation [13-15/12/22]

The National Centre for Blood Donation and the Aimopetalio student initiative invite you to a Christmas voluntary blood donation event inspired by the magical world of Harry Potter on Tuesday, 13, and Wednesday, 14 December 2022, from 11:00 to 15:30, at the meeting room of the School of Philosophy (room 301), as well as on Thursday 15 December 2022, from 10:30 to 15:00, at the reading room of the Department of Biology.

Trained members of the National Centre for Blood Donation staff will perform the blood collection procedure.

To book an appointment, volunteers might contact the National Centre for Blood Donation Office by phone at +30 213 214 6716 and +30 213 214 6726 on weekdays from 09:00 to 15:00. Alternatively, they might fill in a Google Form at https://forms.gle/3taN55P1zAm2NqRX8

Access to the School of Philosophy and the Department of Biology is easy by public transport (bus routes 220, 221, 235, 250, and 608, leaving or passing through the ‘Evangelismos’ metro station, and 220, 221, 230, 235, and 608, leaving or passing through the ‘Panepistimio’ metro station).

University of Athens

The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, which was inaugurated on May 3, 1837, was initially housed in a renovated Ottoman building on the northeastern side of the Acropolis. This building has since been restored and now functions as the University Museum. Originally named the "Othonian University," after Otto, the first king of Greece, it consisted of four academic departments and 52 students. As the first university of the newly established Greek state, as well as of the broader Balkan and Mediterranean region, it assumed an important socio-historical role, which was pivotal in the development of specific forms of knowledge and culture within the country.
