The Vice-Rector, Professor Papaioannou, spoke extensively on the history, identity, and international orientation of NKUA; she referred to the disciplines taught and NKUA’s international agreements, particularly those concluded in the past with Universities in China (e.g., the collaboration between the School of Philosophy and Chinese Higher Educational Institutions). In addition, Professor Papaioannou informed the Chinese academics about NKUA’s two English-taught Undergraduate Programmes (School of Philosophy and School of Medicine – exclusively available to international students), the new English-taught Undergraduate Programme to be offered by the Department of Pharmacy, and the foreign language-taught Postgraduate Programmes of Study.

The Chinese academics gave an overview of Liaoning University and its international partnerships. They discussed at length their great interest in joint Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes in History, English Literature, and Theatre Studies; joint Undergraduate, Postgraduate Programmes, and cotutelles in Economics; joint Undergraduate Programmes in Informatics, the Environment, Disaster & Crisis Management, Chemistry, and Food Development; and—finally—exchanges of students, academic and administrative staff.
