The 9th international conference ‘ Language Disorders in Greek’, which took place on 23-24 September 2024 at the School of Philosophy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, was successfully completed.
In an atmosphere of collaboration and fruitful reflection, researchers from Greece and abroad presented research data on various aspects of language disorders.
Ianthi Tsimpli (University of Cambridge), Vesna Stojanovik (University of Reading), Eleni Peristeri (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) and Eirini Sanoudaki (Bangor University) participated as invited speakers.
As part of the conference, a thematic session on ‘Bi/multilingualism and language disorders’ was organised, in which a research team from Bangor University in Wales participated.
In this way, the collaboration between the Laboratory of Psycholinguistics & Neurolinguistics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the Child Bilingualism Lab of the University of Bangor, funded by the Taith Mobility Scheme (Bangor University), was completed. The conference was dedicated to the memory of Professor Emeritus of NKUA Dimitra Theophanopoulou-Kontou.
The Organizing Committee comprised Spyridoula Varlokosta, Evangelia Kyritsi, Katerina Pantoula, Marielena Soilemezidi, Vivian Stamou, Danai Tsinivits.
Students volunteers included Eirini Chalkia, Vassiliki Dechounioti, Xanthi Kamona, Evaggelia Kiriakopoulou, Athina Ktistaki.
