In accordance with article 296 of Law 4957/2023, the NKUA’s University Club was abolished as a Legal Person governed by Public Law. By decision No. 1433/24-1-23 of the Rector of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, published in the Government Gazette 545/6-2-2023, the Directorate of Student Welfare was established.
This development has emphasized the need to create a web page with all pertinent information about the newly formed Directorate. Accordingly, there was a transition from the old address of the defunct University Club’s web page (lesxi.uoa.gr) to the new address of the recently established Directorate of Student Welfare’s web page (https://merimna.uoa.gr).
Far from being only responsible for providing meals to students, the NKUA’s Directorate of Student Welfare also assists them with health care, careers, placements, cultural and sport activities, reading rooms, computer clusters, and other matters. It is also in charge of the Unit of Coequal Access for Persons with Disabilities and Persons with Special Educational Needs and the International Students Support Unit.
