Participation of the NKUA’s School of Education in the organization of the Conference of the International Academy of the History of Science entitled ‘Science and Human Values’ [12-15/9/23]

The School of Education of NKUA participates in the organization of the 2^nd Conference of the International Academy of the History of Science entitled ‘Science and Human Values’, which will take place from 12 to 15 September 2023.

The opening session will be on 12 September 2023 at 09:30 at the Great Hall of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Main building, 30 Panepistimiou st, Athens). All other sessions will be at the National Hellenic Research Foundation (48 Vassileos Konstantinou Ave., Athens).

The Rector of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Professor Gerasimos Siasos cordially invites you to the opening ceremony of the 2nd conference of the International Academy of the History of Science on: Science and Human Values organized by the School of Education of the University of Athens and the National Hellenic Research Foundation.

The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 12 September 2023 at 09.30 a.m. at the Great Hall of the University of Athens (main building, 30 Panepistimiou Street).

The proceedings of the conference, which will run from 12 to 15 September, will take place at the premises of the National Hellenic Research Foundation (48 Vasileos Konstantinou Street).

− the Chair of the Department of Early Childhood Education, Professor Vasilios Tsafos
Opening of the conference by the Chair of the National Hellenic Research Foundation, Professor Dimosthenis Sarigiannis.

Introductory speech by the former Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, Professor Emeritus Kostas Gavroglu, entitled: «Is freedom of research in the humanities under threat?»

Keynote speech by Robert Halleux, member of the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres entitled: «Science and consciousness: A historical survey of ethical and sociopolitical debates in Science and Technology».
