Series of seminars by Associate Professor of the Department of Theology, Stavros Giagkazoglou, at the Faculty of Canon Law of the Catholic University of Paris

Two years ago, the Faculty of Canon Law of the Catholic University of Paris, France, made an educational trip to explore synodality in the Orthodox Church, travelling to Athens and the Ecumenical Patriarchate with a large group of academics and students led by the Dean, Professor Ludovic Danto.

NKUA and the Department of Theology received the delegation. They discussed ways to promote academic relationships and exchanges for the benefit of theological dialogue and inter-institutional cooperation.

Within the above context, Associate Professor at the NKUA’s Department of Theology, Dr Stavros Giagkazoglou, gave a three-day (twelve-hour) seminar for the doctoral candidates of the Faculty of Canon Law, on February 5-7, 2025, at the invitation of the Catholic University of Paris. The seminar’s main topic was Orthodox Ecclesiology and how it relates to the Roman Catholic Church’s ‘Ressourcement’ and ‘New Theology’ movements.
