University of Athens – Cyprus Branch Opens Expressions of interest  for 5 Undergraduate Programmes

Expressions of interest remain open until Tuesday, 30 September 2025, for 5 Undergraduate Programmes offered by the Cyprus Branch of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA).

The Programmes—delivered by the Departments of Medicine, Paedagogy and Primary Education, Business Administration, Economics, and Nursing—are set to start in October 2025.

Expressions of interest do not constitute an application for admission/registration. Such applications may be submitted only after the completion of all accreditation procedures and following a new announcement.

Supporting Documents Submitted with the Application

  1. Copy of ID Card or Passport
  2. Education:

(i) School Leaving Certificate from a recognized High School of at least six years of attendance

(ii) A qualification equivalent to, or corresponding with, the above-mentioned School Leaving Certificate, regardless of whether it was obtained in the Republic of Cyprus or abroad

(iii) Results of the subjects examined in the Panhellenic/Pancyprian Access Examinations (for candidates from Greece or Cyprus) and results of equivalent Higher Education Entrance Examinations for candidates from other countries

(Candidates holding a Greek High School Leaving Certificate must also meet the Minimum Admission Base for the relevant scientific field)

  1. CV
  2. Proof of Language Ability:

(i) Proof of English Language Ability at a minimum of B2 Level (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

(ii) Proof of Greek Language Ability (if required)

  1. Other (e.g., Letters of Recommendation, Certifications, Volunteer Work, etc.)

 

School of Medicine: Call for expressions of interest

The Department of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) – Cyprus Branch, following the completion of the official evaluation process, invites prospective students to express their interest in studying Medicine by applying to the Greek-taught Undergraduate Medical Programme. This twelve-semester programme leads to the award of a Degree in Medicine, fully compliant with current legal regulations. To apply, please complete and submit the attached application form.

The Undergraduate Medical Programme is identical to the accredited curriculum offered by the School of Medicine at NKUA, which has been operating in Athens since 1837.

The Programme will start in October 2025.

The Department of Paedagogy and Primary Education of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) – Cyprus Branch, following the completion of the official evaluation process, invites prospective students to express their interest in studying Education by applying to the Undergraduate Programme. This eight-semester programme leads to the award of a Degree in Education, fully compliant with current legal regulations. To apply, please complete and submit the attached application form.

The Undergraduate Programme is identical to the accredited curriculum offered by the Department of Paedagogy and Primary Education, School of Education, NKUA, which has been operating in Athens since 1984.

The Programme will start in October 2025.

This eight-semester programme leads to the award of a Degree in Business Administration, fully compliant with current legal regulations. The Undergraduate Programme in Business Administration is identical to the accredited curriculum offered by the Department of Business Administration, one of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens’ Departments, established in 2019.

The Programme will start in October 2025.

The Department of Economics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) – Cyprus Branch, following the completion of the official evaluation process, invites prospective students to express their interest in studying Economics by applying to the Undergraduate Programme. This eight-semester programme leads to the award of a Degree in Economics, fully compliant with current legal regulations. To apply, please complete and submit the attached application form.

The Undergraduate Programme in Economics is identical to the accredited curriculum offered by the Department of Economics at NKUA, one of the University’s oldest Departments. Established in 1837, it has operated in its current form since 1972.

The Programme will start in October 2025.

University of Athens

The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, which was inaugurated on May 3, 1837, was initially housed in a renovated Ottoman building on the northeastern side of the Acropolis. This building has since been restored and now functions as the University Museum. Originally named the "Othonian University," after Otto, the first king of Greece, it consisted of four academic departments and 52 students. As the first university of the newly established Greek state, as well as of the broader Balkan and Mediterranean region, it assumed an important socio-historical role, which was pivotal in the development of specific forms of knowledge and culture within the country.
