NKUA Professor C. Varotsos was appointed Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Atmospheric and Solar-Terrestrial Physics of Elsevier.
Professor Costas VAROTSOS is the fDean of the School of Science of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). His main research interests are: Non-linear Processes, Climate Dynamics, Environmental Change Modelling, and Remote Sensing. He has established four international research Laboratories in the NKUA. He has published 16 Books-monographs (13 of SPRINGER, 3 of CRC Press and Matrix Rom). Also, he has published 5 university books in Greek and contributed with chapters to 6 more international books of IoP, Springer and CRC Press. His papers (over 300 in peer-reviewed journals) have received H-index 60 in Web of Science. His explanation of the Antarctic ozone hole split in 2002 has been reported as highlight by the U.N. Environmental Programme (https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/BF02987584) and by Thomson ISI as “Hot Paper” in the field of Ecology / Environment (http://archive.is/zXLhZ). Additionally, his contribution to the exploration of the scaling dynamics in global atmospheric ozone and temperature has been identified by Thomson-ISI (http://archive.sciencewatch.com/dr/erf/2011/11augerf/11augerfVaro/) (Aug. 1, 2011) as “Emerging Research Fronts Paper” in the field of Geosciences.
