The International Conference entitled ‘Orthodox Theology and the Ministry of Fellow Human Beings: Examples, Demands, Contemporary Trends’ concluded with great success. The Conference was organized by the Faculty of Orthodox Theology and Educational Science of Valahia University of Târgovişte, Romania, in collaboration with the historic Archbishopric of Târgovişte from 27 to 28 May 2024.
Participating in the Conference were the NKUA’s Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation, and Lifelong Learning, Associate Professor Christos Karagiannis, and the Director of the Historical Section of the NKUA’s Department of Theology, Associate Professor Ioannis Panagiotopoulos. Every year, the presence in the Conference of delegates from NKUA is of considerable importance. The Department of Theology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens has forged a close relationship with the Faculty of Orthodox Theology and Educational Science at Valahia University of Târgovişte as part of the Erasmus programme, with Associate Professor Ioannis Panagiotopoulos serving as the academic coordinator. Over the last decade, the Department has received more than 80 undergraduate and postgraduate students who attended classes in Theology, learned our language, and had first-hand exposure to Greek culture.
