Book launch: Cubesats – invading and shaping the space industry

The Department of Digital Industry Technologies (T.T.S.B.) of the School of Sciences of the University of Athens invites you to the presentation of the book “Cubesats: invading and shaping the space industry” by Assistant Professor of the department Mr. Paris Chrysos, which will take place on Tuesday, November 12th at 18:00 at the building Kostis Palamas, 48, Akadimias Street, Athens.

The book was recently published by Elgar and signed by Paris Chrysos and Francesco Appio from Paris Business School.

Studying the adventures of teams from six countries and three continents, the book explores the dynamic relationship between innovation, new technologies and innovative teams.

Nanosatellite technology could well be a metaphor for the contemporary debate on university research and the potential for growth through new technologies.

The study also highlights the attraction of space to the desire for technological innovation, as well as the excitement of personal contribution to the creation of an object to be seen in the sky among the stars.

University of Athens

The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, which was inaugurated on May 3, 1837, was initially housed in a renovated Ottoman building on the northeastern side of the Acropolis. This building has since been restored and now functions as the University Museum. Originally named the "Othonian University," after Otto, the first king of Greece, it consisted of four academic departments and 52 students. As the first university of the newly established Greek state, as well as of the broader Balkan and Mediterranean region, it assumed an important socio-historical role, which was pivotal in the development of specific forms of knowledge and culture within the country.
