E-learning program “Assisted Reproductive Techniques”

E-learning program “Assisted Reproductive Techniques”

An English e-learning program is offered by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens entitled  “Assisted Reproductive Techniques”. The program will run for three months (March to May 2024) and will be web-based. Classes will take place on Fridays and Saturdays in the afternoon. The program costs 800 euros and offers 6 ECTS with a certificate of attendance.

The program is open to graduates of any School of Health Sciences, as well as interested medical and paramedical staff. The primary goal of the program is to provide participants with the updated data, principles, and techniques of assisted reproduction to meet the growing academic needs of the international community.

Participants will learn about the anatomy, physiology, and function of the female and male reproductive system. They will also learn about multiple approaches to infertility and medical management, including all stages of research and diagnosis. The program covers all protocols ranging from investigation to intervention to solve the most common pathological gynecological and male conditions. This will include minimally invasive surgical methods, gamete retrieval and processing techniques, oocyte fertilization through conventional IVF or micro-fertilization, handling of fetus, as well as the basic principles and techniques related to surgical treatment of common pathological conditions.

We would be honored to have you and your colleagues join this program. If your unit is interested in participating in the teaching process, we would be happy to collaborate.

University of Athens

The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, which was inaugurated on May 3, 1837, was initially housed in a renovated Ottoman building on the northeastern side of the Acropolis. This building has since been restored and now functions as the University Museum. Originally named the "Othonian University," after Otto, the first king of Greece, it consisted of four academic departments and 52 students. As the first university of the newly established Greek state, as well as of the broader Balkan and Mediterranean region, it assumed an important socio-historical role, which was pivotal in the development of specific forms of knowledge and culture within the country.
