On Monday, 14 July 2025, an online meeting took place between two faculty members of the Department of Public Law at the School of Law of the University of Athens, namely Associate Professor and Head of the Department, Dr Aikaterini Iliadou, and Assistant Professor, Dr Nikolaos Simantiras, on the one hand, and, on the other, representatives of the Sino-German Legal Cooperation Programme, which is implemented by GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
The foreign delegation included five members serving onthe Legislative Affairs Commission of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China. During the meeting, discussions focused on the constitutional framework of Greek Public Administration, the organization of Public Administration, the general principles governing the actions of Public Administration, the instruments of administrative action, as well as issues of judicial control over administrative actions and judicial control over theconstitutionality of laws.
The meeting was constructive, featuring a presentation of the general framework by Dr Aikaterini Iliadou and remarks by Dr Nikolaos Simantiras, in response to questions raised by the foreign delegation. The questionsconcerned, in particular, the principle of proportionality, the operation of independent authorities, and theprocedures for the judicial and administrative control over Public Administration.
