The Ports Management and Shipping Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens proudly announces that the Editorial Office of the top academic journal Maritime Economics and Logistics (MEL) (impact factor 4.1) has now moved under the auspices of the Department, following an earlier ten-year cooperation with Texas A&M University, US.
The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens is the oldest and most prestigious University of Greece and among the top-ranking academic institutions worldwide.
The objective of this landmark development is to strengthen MEL research and publications in the areas of port management, shipping finance, and artificial intelligence applications in shipping and ports. Professor Theodoros Syriopoulos, Chair of the Ports Management and Shipping Dpt., succeeds Prof. Iakovou as the third MEL Associate Editor, joining Professors Theo Notteboom (University of Anwerp, Belgium) and Kevin Cullinane (University of Gothenburg, Sweden).
Professor Hercules Haralambides of Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands is the Editor-in-Chief of MEL Journal.
MEL scope focuses on shipping, ports and global supply chains, though the journal continues to proudly boast its accolade as a Q1 journal in economics, econometrics and finance.
