According to the evaluation report presented at the meeting, the students consider the Programme successful and well-organized, with high-quality teaching staff—and a team of tutors wherever expert knowledge is required. They place a high value on extracurricular activities (e.g., CPR) that enrich their Programme, and the same applies to lectures by visiting Professors from foreign Universities, laboratory training, and the overall knowledge they gain. Interested in continuing the Programme, they would also recommend it to friends in their own countries. They are happy with their interactions with their fellow students and the administrative support and assistance provided to them in bureaucratic matters, especially during their move to our country.
The meeting attendees carefully considered the students’ suggestions for improving the Programme. These were mainly about the optimal scheduling of lectures, laboratory training, and other activities, mandatory attendance, and the option of recording lectures and making them available online. Additionally, the students made course-specific proposals, which the Head Professor of each course will examine.
On behalf of the Programme’s Committee, the Rector of NKUA and Director of the Programme, Professor M.-A. C. Dimopoulos, and the Deputy Director, Professor P. P. Sfikakis, would like to thank for this successful launch of the new English-taught Undergraduate Programme ‘Medical Degree in English’ the members of the Programme’s Committee, the teaching staff, i.e., the ones who have determined from the very beginning the successful outcome of the first semester, the academic advisors for their support to the students, the administrative support coordinator and team, and most importantly our forty international students from eleven countries, whose feedback contributes significantly to the Programme’s improvement.
With our best wishes for the second semester which started on 13 February 2023,
The Programme’s Director
Professor M.-A. C. Dimopoulos
Rector of NKUA
The Deputy Director
Professor P. P. Sfikakis
