The University offers a number of scholarships from bequests, legacies and donations. In 2021, in the context of fulfilling the will of 108 donors, the University allocated 852,522 euros in scholarships to undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as Ph.D. candidates for studies in Greece and abroad. In addition, partner Universities often offer scholarships to NKUA students for undergraduate and postgraduate studies or in order for the students to participate in summer schools at the foreign University. Furthermore, the NKUA is the only Greek University which, since 1993 participates in the Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund (SYLFF) program, funded by the Nippon Foundation and administered by the Tokyo Foundation for Policy Research. This fellowship program is offered to selective 69 Universities from 44 countries worldwide and it “provides fellowships to the “best and brightest” postgraduate students with leadership potential and commitment to making the world a better place for all…”. Until now more than 300 fellowships have been offered to NKUA students.
