Participation of the NKUA’s Department of Music Studies in the CIVIS Summer School entitled ‘Sacred Sounds, Sacred Spaces’ (Madrid, 10-14/7/23)

The Department of Music Studies of NKUA participates for the second consecutive year in the CIVIS Summer School entitled ‘Sacred Sounds, Sacred Spaces: The Occidental Mediterranean (Reconstruct the Past Auditory Experience and the Acoustics Phenomena of Sacred Performance Spaces of the Iberian Peninsula & Learn to Appreciate Its Ancient and Contemporary Soundscapes). This year’s Summer School will take place at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid from 10 to 14 July 2023. It is worth mentioning that the first such Summer School took place in Athens in July 2022 (https://civis.eu/en/civis-courses/sacred-sounds-sacred-spaces).

Participants in the Summer School include two NKUA faculty members (Professor Anastasia Georgaki and Assistant Professor Areti Andreopoulou), six Postgraduate students (Vasiliki Sarantari, Dimitra Remidianaki, Aggeliki Kontopoulou, Maria Kritsotaki, Irini Bosinaki, and Clio Anagnostopoulou) and a PhD candidate (Giorgos Dedousis).
