Announcement by the Presidency of the Republic
The President of the Republic, Konstantinos An. Tasoulas, welcomed the Rector of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Professor Gerasimos Siasos, who informed him on matters within his area of responsibility.
In particular, Mr Siasos presented the University’s strategic plan for the coming years, its international orientation, and the agreements made so far with leading Universities abroad, including Harvard, Columbia, Yale, Sorbonne, and others.
Finally, the Rector outlined the Institution’s ongoing effort to establish a Branch in Cyprus, a project that has already received a strong response from society on the island.
The President of the Republic thanked the Rector, Mr Siasos, for the briefing and wished him every success in achieving his goals, which, given the history and the significance of the University of Athens, are also of national importance.
