Within the framework of the CIVIS alliance, and for the second consecutive year, a joint course entitled ‘Religion and Power in the Eastern Mediterranean in Late Antiquity and Early Middle Ages’ will be offered in English, in the spring semester of 2023, by the Department of Theology of NKUA, (Professor Dimitrios Moschos) the Faculty of Protestant Theology of the University of Tübingen (Professors Volker Drecoll and Holger Zellentin), and the Department of Ethnology, History of Religions, and Gender Studies of Stockholm University (Associate Professor Emmanouela Grypeou). The partnering Institutions will deliver the course in a blended format, with 8 online sessions (starting on 14 February 2023) and a face-to-face week in Athens (from 26 to 30 June 2023). The latter will combine teaching and visits to museums and archaeological sites of interest for the object of the course. The course corresponds to up to 6 ECTS credits of the home University and is open to ALL students of NKUA, not just those of the Department of Theology.
Applications can be submitted until 30 November 2022 through the following link, which also contains information on terms and conditions. We would also like to remind you that this is equal academic cooperation between Universities ranked top worldwide for Theology and the Study of Religion.
