Within the context of a Memorandum of Understanding between the NKUA’s School of Law and the International Group of Protection & Indemnity Clubs, a group of students from the LLM in Maritime Law and representatives of the American P&I Club visited on Thursday, 13 March 2025, the world’s first FSRU (Floating Storage and Regasification Unit), which is currently laid up in Elefsina, Greece.
Dr Konstantinos Galanis led the tour, giving participants the opportunity to take a close-up look at the vessel’s deck, bridge, and engine room. They also discussed its daily operations, technical and operational lifespan, inspections, ship recycling, and the Hong Kong International Convention, which is expected to come into force in June 2025.
A unique experience for everyone, combining theory and practice!
