On Sunday, 23 November, NKUA released the latest edition of ‘The University of Athens, a Newspaper of Science, Education and Culture’, distributed with the Greek Sunday newspaper ‘To Vima tis Kyriakis’. The front page of this fifth issue features, as its main story, an interview with Greece’s central banker and Professor Emeritus at the University of Athens, Yannis Stournaras, under the headline ‘“We Matured Through the Crisis”. Nation, Society, Institutions’.
In the interview, Yannis Stournaras speaks with Professor of Finance and Member of the University’s Administration Council, Dimitris Kenourgios. On the topic of the EU crisis, he notes: ‘Potential risks arising from the situation in France include the possibility that developments may affect the European financial environment, and that political uncertainty could slow down critical European reforms’.

Through its university newspaper—published as a supplement to ‘To Vima tis Kyriakis’—Greece’s oldest and largest higher education institution brings science, education, research, and the perspectives of young scholars into the public conversation. The publication provides accessible reporting on social and political issues. It highlights research produced at the University of Athens and tracks international developments that shape academic and scientific debate. In this way, the newspaper serves as a lively platform where ideas from science, culture, and education can be shared and explored by a broad audience.
