The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens has taken a major step in advancing its academic programmes at its Cyprus Branch with the official opening of new, state-of-the-art laboratories in Nicosia. These facilities, located in the heart of the city, significantly expand the University’s physical and educational presence on the island.
The new laboratories include Anatomy, Physiology, Histology-Embryology, Biology, Medical Physics, and Medical Statistics.
In the Anatomy Laboratory, students can explore modern anatomical models alongside the advanced 3D visualization platform, 3D Organon, gaining a fully interactive and comprehensive learning experience. The Biology, Physiology, and Histology-Embryology Laboratories are equipped with ample microscopes to support hands-on training, ensuring an engaging and practical laboratory environment.
The Laboratories of Medical Physics and Medical Statistics are now fully operational. The latest computers and all necessary peripherals have been installed, each workstation featuring specialized software, following guidance from academic staff and replicating the setup at the main campus in Athens. This includes widely used statistical packages such as SPSS, Stata, R Studio, and RevMan. The same facilities will also host practical sessions for the Medical Physics Laboratory.
Adjacent to the computer cluster, a dedicated space houses specialized measuring instruments and devices, creating a fully equipped, high-standard laboratory environment.
The launch of these laboratories underscores the University’s strategic commitment to delivering high-quality, contemporary education, supported by facilities that reflect its long-standing academic excellence.
