-The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is a required document for both Cypriot and Greek students of the University of Athens – Cyprus Branch. Cypriot Students: They can obtain the EHIC free of charge at any Citizens Service Centre (KEP) or at any Citizens Centre (KEPO) of Cyprus Post.
Greek students residing in Cyprus: If insured with the National Organization for Health Care Services (EOPYY), they can apply for the EHIC electronically via gov.gr (service: ‘European Health Insurance Card’) using their personal Taxisnet credentials. The card is mailed to Greece; however, students can request a temporary replacement certificate, which may be used in Cyprus until the official card arrives. The card is valid for two years. It is strongly recommended that all students, regardless of their country of origin, obtain the EHIC prior to any travel or participation in European programmes, as it ensures immediate and secure access to medical care throughout the European Union.
