The NKUA’s International Electronic Journal ‘Theophany’ Releases Its 6th Issue

The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) is pleased to announce the release of the 6th issue of Theophany, its International Electronic Journal. This 2024 issue is now available at https://epub.lib.uoa.gr/index.php/theophany/issue/view/217.

Theophany is a peer-reviewed journal that has been published annually since 2019. Importantly, from its inception, the journal has maintained a commitment to open access, publishing all content without any fees for authors or readers. This policy ensures that high-quality research is freely accessible to the global academic community.

The journal features original scholarly articles and interventions across various disciplines, including Theology, Religious Studies, Psychology of Religion, Sociology, and Philosophy. It continues to provide a platform for innovative research and insightful discussions in these fields.

The current issue presents a rich array of contributions from distinguished scholars:

University of Athens

The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, which was inaugurated on May 3, 1837, was initially housed in a renovated Ottoman building on the northeastern side of the Acropolis. This building has since been restored and now functions as the University Museum. Originally named the "Othonian University," after Otto, the first king of Greece, it consisted of four academic departments and 52 students. As the first university of the newly established Greek state, as well as of the broader Balkan and Mediterranean region, it assumed an important socio-historical role, which was pivotal in the development of specific forms of knowledge and culture within the country.
