It is with great pleasure and honor to announce the appointment of Antonios Chatzigeorgiou, Professor of Experimental and Clinical Physiology, as Visiting Professor at the Roger Williams Institute of Liver Studies (RW-ILS), King’s College London.
The Roger Williams Institute of Liver Studies is one of Europe’s largest comprehensive academic liver centres and constitutes a leading clinical–academic partnership between the Foundation for Liver Research, King’s College London, and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The Institute adopts an interdisciplinary approach, integrating clinical expertise with advanced research to tackle liver disease from multiple angles. Importantly, by encompassing more than 15 scientific groups, the Institute trains the next generation of scientists and healthcare professionals to work seamlessly together.
Dr. Chatzigeorgiou has already established strong collaborations with researchers at the Institute and will contribute his long-standing research expertise in the field of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), steatohepatitis, and hepatocellular carcinoma, supporting the development of innovative research projects and international grant applications in collaboration with Institute scientists.
Special thanks go to the Director of the Roger Williams Institute of Liver Studies, Professor Philip Newsome, a world-renowned hepatologist, Chief Investigator of several major studies in the field of MASLD, and Senior Editor at the Journal of Hepatology, who proposed this appointment.
