Associate Professor Stella Tsani, Department of Economics, has been elected to the Policy Advice Committee of the InterAcademy Partnership (IAP) for a three-year term commencing in December 2025.
The InterAcademy Partnership (IAP) is a global network comprising over 150 academies of science, engineering, and medicine that collaborate to provide independent and authoritative advice on issues of international significance. The Policy Advice Committee is the central body responsible for guiding IAP’s strategic direction in the area of policy engagement, ensuring that science-based evidence informs international policy processes.
Associate Professor Stella Tsani’s research focuses on sustainable development, energy and natural resource economics, climate change, and policy analysis. She has extensive experience in international scientific assessment processes, including her role as lead author for the United Nations Environment Programme’s Global Environment Outlook (GEO-7) and her contribution to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Seventh Assessment Report scoping. Her election reflects the value of her academic work and sustained commitment to advancing science-informed policy at the global level. This appointment highlights the contribution of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens to international scientific and policy dialogue and reinforces the University’s role in addressing global sustainability challenges.
