Dr Kostas A Papavassiliou has been featured in the ‘Emerging Investigators Highlight’ of the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, the flagship journal of the American Thoracic Society (Impact Factor 19.4). The feature showcases early-career researchers whose work is making significant contributions to pulmonology and respiratory medicine.
Dr Papavassiliou holds a BS in Molecular Biology from Harvard University and earned his MD and PhD from the School of Medicine at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He is currently completing his residency in respiratory medicine at the First Department of Respiratory Medicine, Sotiria Chest Hospital, Athens.

The distinction follows the publication of the review article ‘Cracking the Code of Immunotherapy Resistance in Small Cell Lung Cancer: Molecular Insights and Emerging Solutions’, which was selected as an Editor’s Choice. Dr Papavassiliou is the paper’s first author.
